Amsterdam - Part 1

Mike and I went on a little city break to Amsterdam a few months ago. I have only just got around to blogging about it.

We didn't really go in for the whole tourist trip, instead we just went and walked around this beautiful city, getting lost, eating and drinking. Perfect.

Our favourite area was Jordann. It's was pretty, clean, beautiful houses, nice cafes and shops and the best cocktail bar called Vespa, what more could you want!

Over all we loved Amsterdam, I loved the architecture, the people and the bikes!! Wow! So many bikes. Perhaps in another life we might live there.

Due to the amount of photos I took I've split the blog post into two parts.

DIY Printed Chair

I had a chair in my dining room that I re covered a while ago but the fabric didn't really match the decor anymore and it had got pretty discoloured and dirty. I was struggling to find a fabric I like and seen as I have been doing some printing again recently I thought I'd have a go at printing my own fabric.
You will need:

Lino block
Wooden blocks
Fabric block printing ink
Tile
Rollers
Fabric
Scissors
Pencil

I basically used the same theory as Lino printing. I picked a shape and made a stamp with a Lino block. Using fabric block printing ink I stamped a thick white cotton until I had enough to cover the chair.

I'm really pleased with the outcome, it cool to have a chair literally no one else has.
