Hatty

I am Hatty, the youngest of the three sisters. I have always been really creative with a strong sense of colour and a love for making a mess. I studied Fashion Textiles at University but found I prefer to make individual quirky things, rather than cater to a mass market. Following university I wanted to spread my wings and see some of the world and travelled to Australia, India, Nepal, South East Asia, New Zealand and spent some time in Europe honing my snowboarding skills and at one point breaking my wrist! I loved the travelling but I missed home terribly and dreamed of my own cosy corner back in Yorkshire. On my return I spent time building a business plan to open my own vintage tea room, which in October 2012 I did. The cafĂ© is called ‘Polly put the Kettle On’ and I make all the scones, cakes and bakes myself, as well homemade soups, jams and chutney. The ethos is a cosy ‘home from home’ feel with homemade goodness and a laid back atmosphere. I love having my own business and put my heart and soul into it. The last couple of years have been busy and exciting, setting up the tea room and making myself a cosy home, but now I am enjoying a slightly slower pace I wish to fill my spare time with inspiring little projects, a blog seemed like a perfect way to do this and hopefully inspire others along the way.

Hatty xx
